Google Business Profile Adds a Collected Info Tab

Google has switched on a new "Collected info" section inside Business Profile, according to Google's own support page. It sits under Edit profile on the dashboard you already use to manage your listing, and it shows what Google's systems have gathered about your business from outside sources, alongside where each detail came from and when.
That gathering happens in a few ways, the support page says: crawling the web, edits other users have suggested, information bought in from third parties, and outreach of its own. That last one is worth knowing about by itself. Google says it may contact the verified phone number on your profile with an automated call, text or WhatsApp message asking you to confirm details. Had one of those and assumed it was a scam? It might genuinely have been Google.
Inside the new tab, each collected item shows its source and the date it was gathered, and you can delete anything wrong. Deleting only clears that entry from the log, though. Google says it does not change whatever is already live on your profile elsewhere, so a wrong opening time picked up this way still needs correcting on the profile itself, not just removed from the tab.
Google's own page says the feature is rolling out to "select regions, languages, and business categories" rather than everyone at once, so it may not have reached your account yet. Worth a look regardless: a profile built partly from web crawls and third-party data can carry a wrong phone number or an old address for months with nobody noticing, and this is the first place Google has actually shown its working on where that information came from.
Our Google Business Profile guide covers claiming and verifying the listing itself. Once that's done, the Collected info tab is worth a check alongside the AI review summary Google now shows, another automated feature pulling from your profile without asking first.
